Photography of Fine Art originals for reproduction in books or other printed media is best achieved using large format 5”x 4” colour transparencies. which we have found provides the best colour reproduction. Photography can be done on location where very large paintings, which are difficult to move, are involved, or if the quantity of originals makes transport difficult; providing there is sufficient space to set up the camera and lights. Prices are for flat originals such as watercolours or non-reflective oil paintings, and other originals not under glass, for sizes up to 20” x 30” Quantity rates are available for more than ten originals of similar sizes if photographed at the same time. Larger originals, paintings under glass and very reflective or heavily textured oil paintings are treated as commercial photography at £35.00 per hour plus material & processing costs, with a minimum charge of one half hour.

Images can also be supplied in JPEG, TIF or EPS formats for PC or MAC on a CD ROM

Colour or B&W prints, or slides for lecture purposes can be produced from the original Large Format Colour Trans.

COMMERCIAL Photography

Charges for photography are based on the time taken at the daily or hourly rate, plus material and processing costs, and the cost of any prints or additional transparencies supplied. Materials & processing costs are based on the materials used for average studio or location photography, for creative or experimental shots where more materials are used, costs may be higher. Daily rates are from 9.00 to 5.30 allowing for 8 working hours, Studio and Location photography charged at the hourly rate carries a minimum charge of one hour.

Charges for Digital photography are based on the time plus a standard charge for digital manipulation and output to CD Rom, or for prints or transparencies supplied.

DIGITAL COPYING Service

Copying of photographs, transparencies, and other artworks up to A4 size and Transparencies up to 5” x 4” size is now done by Digital Scanning and the image output either as a print on conventional photographic paper or on a CD ROM as a JPEG or TIF file in PC or MAC Format. Old colour and black & white photographs can in some circumstances be restored to remove scratches, damage and blemishes and the tonal or colour balance can in most cases be improved.
